Parenting Disputes Regarding Children (custody)
Although it can be a sensitive subject for many parents following separation, it is extremely important to establish a routine for both the children and the parents. The Family Court considers that the interests of the children is paramount. In other words, the children come first and must not be used as pawns by either parent to manipulate their own situation.
Now the tendency is more towards joint parenting, so that both parents are involved in the care of the children. We will assist you in working out a plan for the children to spend time with each parent generally, as well as during school holidays and special days like mother's day, or father's day. When the final agreement is reached it will be formalised by the filing of consent orders in the Family Court, giving each parent - but most importantly the children - the security of a routine.
